Title: Staff Software Systems Engineer (Embedded C++)

Position Summary:

As Software Systems Engineer, you will be a critical contributor in the
development and deployment of software solutions to support our development
programs and building compelling products within Abbott's Electrophysiology
Division. You will be responsible for leading feature teams in the
development of complex software applications which include signal
processing, algorithms and visualization in a real-time environment.  You
will also be working with our emerging cloud and analytics programs.  All
this will happen in an environment which emphasizes a robust cybersecurity
and patient privacy focus. You will participate in all phases of the
software lifecycle, including concept development, requirements, design,
implementation, and testing.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

.         Lead application feature definition activities working
cross-functionally with Software Development, Systems Engineering, Human
Factors, Clinical Engineering, and other stakeholders.  

.         Take ownership for overall project success and define necessary
activities to achieve desired business results.

.         Identify, quantify and resolve technical risks which may require
cross functional collaboration to resolve complex system interactions

.         Manage System and subsystem requirements including definition,
decomposition, analysis and traceability to ensure clear and unambiguous
software requirements

.         Play a key role in the software/hardware integration.  Collaborate
with Systems Verification, Pre-Clinical engineering and other stakeholders
to do root cause analysis and solution generation

.         Reviews software designs to ensure they implement the appropriate
software behavior and requirements

.         Ensure that all activities conform to Quality and compliance
requirements

.         As a team leader, mentor and guide other team members to
facilitate completion of various project activities, from definition,
identifying software functional requirements, implementation, code reviews,
traceability and final release according to medical device development
processes.

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

.         Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Computer
Systems, Systems, or Software), Computer Science, or related discipline

.         6+ years of software engineering design and development or systems
engineering experience

.         Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with C++

.         Experience with creating and managing requirements and translating
them into effective architectures and software design

.         Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to
communicate to all levels of the organization

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

.         Master's Degree in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Computer
Systems, or Software), Computer Science, or related discipline

.         Knowledge of 62304 and other standards applicable to Class II and
Class III medical devices

.         Previous experience working in a regulated industry such as
automotive, aerospace, healthcare, or defense

.         Well versed in draft FDA Cybersecurity Guidance and GDPR

.         Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and
mentorship

.         Experience with complex electromechanical systems including

Description 
The primary function of the Portfolio and Performance manager is to
establish sustainable, effective strategies and processes for portfolio and
performance management that enable business change and to support
initiatives critical for organizational success. The Portfolio and
Performance manager ensures that appropriate Project Management policies,
procedures and standards are established and communicated throughout the
organization. The Portfolio and Performance manager will drive change to
improve the portfolio, financial and performance management processes. The
Portfolio and Performance manager is responsible for improving the maturity
of the Brand Tech organization. 

Primary Responsibilities/Duties 
. Manage the Brand Tech Project Portfolio and Performance Management
processes. 
. Work directly with the Associate Director to translate performance goals
into process improvement initiatives. 
. Create and maintain a maturity roadmap for the portfolio and performance
management improvement initiatives. 
. Implement processes to ensure consistent execution of portfolio, and
performance management activities. 
. Maintain a balance scorecard to illustrate and monitor Brand Tech
performance using defined KPI's. 
. Benchmark Brand Tech performance against industry, Client IT, and peer IT
organizations. 
. Effectively communicate current performance capabilities and opportunities
for improvement to senior management. 
. Define a method to communicate the status of the portfolio and
value/benefits created by Brand Tech projects. 
. Collaborate with the Client IT enterprise project management office
(EPMO), Commercial PMO, Brand Tech PMO, and other stakeholders to align
priorities and process capabilities. 

Basic Qualifications 
. Bachelor's Degree in computer science or engineering discipline. 
. Minimum of 8 to 11 years of work experience including portfolio
management, financial management, and performance management. 

Skills/Experience Requirements 
. Hands-on experience with portfolio, and performance management. 
. Experience planning and implementing process improvement initiatives. 
. Ability to work cross functionality to achieve performance improvement

. Strong understanding of the disciplines necessary to run an IT

Senior Data Management Project Manager 

Primary Function: 
Develop, execute and manage multiple Statistical/Data Management IT projects
within their defined scope(s). Manage a multitude of interrelated project
activities and lead all aspects of the project lifecycle, working with
project sponsors/key stakeholders, team members, and management to oversee
all phases of project completion. Build and manage project's work breakdown
structure, milestones, risks, issues, and deliverables within the
constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to
ensure the successful completion of the project. Ensure transparent
reporting of project status, issues, risks, and financials. 

Key Responsibilities: 
. Initiate and Plan Project: Works with business and IT management to
establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, financials and
deliverables. Responsible for building the plan and resource needs to
accomplish the scope. 
. Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and
risks will affect the project working with business and IT management and
sponsor to gain agreement for resolution. Measure performance to assure the
project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget. 
. Executing and Closing Project: Develops and executes a work plan obtaining
authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed. Leads team in
delivering project scope. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project
approval from sponsor and stakeholders. 
. Project Communication: Communicate project progress by producing project

. Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure project needs
are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members
based upon their abilities. Motivates project team in order to deliver
project outcomes. 
. Quality Management: Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate
and functional policies and procedures. 
. Decisions: Make decisions that impact project level activities. Influences
or has final decision authority for project budget. 
. Financial Control: Develops and manages a financial plan with
multi-million dollar spend. Tracks actual spend, accruals, proactively
creates spend estimates on a regular basis (at least monthly) and
coordinates estimates and invoices with project vendors, in order to
maintain spend at +/- 10% of the overall project budget. 

Qualifications: 
. Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems/Computer Science or
related discipline. 
. At least 5 years Project Management experience within the Pharmaceutical
Industry, particularly working within a Statistical and/or Data management
environment 
. Demonstrated experience in managing projects of various types,
particularly with solid experience delivering a SAAS tool within a Clinical
research/development space 
. Fundamental knowledge and experience managing SDLC projects using the ITIL
Framework (must have experience managing ITIL Demand, Release, and Change 
. Proven Microsoft Project Professional 2010 or above experience 
. Proven Microsoft Office Suite skills are required. 
. Individual must be able to work full time on-site

Preferred Qualifications: 
. Broadcom Clarity PPM Tool experience 
. PMP Certification
