Position Title:              Lead Integration Engineer

Work Location:             Canada based, REMOTE 

Date:                            ASAP

 

Summary/Objective: This position is for a senior level subject matter expert
engineer with strong communication skills. Highly Technical lead in ION
7X50, 77XX/7210 routers. The work will encompass everything from basic
integration, upgrades and network design. Position requires the ability to
create Method of Procedure (MOP) and Acceptance Test Plans (ATP) built from
the design.  

Required Education/Experience and Competencies:

.         Proficient in Standard Routing Protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP,
Route Policy, QoS, VRRP, Multicast, LDP and MPLS.

.         Needs to be very familiar with Nokia 7X50/77XX/7210
hardware/software and CLI.

.         Applicant needs to be able to comfortably configure, test and
troubleshoot Nokia services as well as SDPs, VPLS, VLL, IES and most
importantly VPRN.

.         Candidate must be an SRA or should be on track to get an SRA
within 6 months

.         Optional knowledge in the areas of Virtualized Service Routers
(VSR), operating systems such as Red Hat, CentOS and Ubuntu and OpenStack,
LTE, BNG, IPTV, Nuage or WLAN GW would be a plus.

.         Strong team work, good communication and documentation skills

Qualification and Skills :

.         Masters in Engineering or 8-10 years of experience in the telecom
industry, dealing with IP technologies.

.         Nokia SRA/Virtuoso, Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE or equivalent
Certification are a plus.

.         Detailed ePC Network Element Knowledge

.         Very Strong in IP Skills covering BGP, OSPF, ISIS and other IP
requirements. Proficient in Standard Routing Protocols such as OSPF, ISIS,
BGP, Route Policy, QoS, VRRP, Multicast, LDP and MPLS.

.         Strong Work experience in Nokia / ALU Routers ALU 7750, 7705 ,
7210  etc

Experience - Technical

.         Experience in selling and delivering Datacenter/Carrier Network
and Solutions

.         Excellent in designing networking equipment for Carrier, SDN and
NFV Solutions and Concepts

.         Excellent in designing E2E Mobile Networks, Backhaul and Core
Solutions and Concepts

.         Detailed understanding of 3GPP interfaces, IP/MPLS concepts and
related technologies

.         Detailed understanding of VZW Call Flows

.         Detailed understanding of VZW Network Features

.         Strong Linux/Unix shell and datacenter networking knowledge

.         Hands-on experience including design, build, deploy,
troubleshooting & fault-finding, etc.

Experience - General

.         Good inter-personal skills required

.         Teaming with other Nokia service delivery teams is necessary

.         Availability for shift work and weekend on call activity is
required

.         Strong technical, organizational and interpersonal skills.

.         Result oriented with the focus on product quality and customer
satisfaction.

.         Team player, open communication and ability to work in an
international team with Excellent Communication skills.

Essential Functions:

.         Perform data integrity verification of ALU 7750, 7705 nodes in
preparation for software upgrades. Report all discrepancies, through chain
management, to customers. 

.         Perform software upgrades following approved Method of Procedures
documents. 

.         Use substantial experience and discretion to provide validation of
Method of Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for
supporting ALU 7750, 7705 1677 or 1678 equipment for software integration. 

.         Update/revise MOPs, SOPs, and data templates as needed to support
ALU 7750, 7705 1677 or 1678 integration and deployment.

.         Prepare MOP's to safely upgrade software on customer equipment;
resolve scripting problems as well as support internal teams with
maintenance activities.

.         Resolve issues with software to upgrade network equipment and
correct faults using Command Line Interface (CLI) and GUI

.         Use substantial experience and discretion to provide validation of
Method of Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for
supporting ALU 7750, 7705 equipment for software integration.

.         Ability to read, write and review Method of Procedures and
implement MOPs in Maintenance Window

.         Perform software upgrades following approved Method of Procedures
documents.

Other Functions: 

.         Support, understand and resolve the customer network elements,
primarily 7750 and 7705 routers and 1677 and 1678 optical network elements.

.         Perform software design, implementation, and integration
maintenance support to customers

.         Provide IPv6 telecommunications traffic migration services for
customers

.         Execute procedures and use proprietary software tools to support
deliverables

.         Create and execute work orders to make parameter changes when
needed

.         Escalate quality issues to improve products and services delivered
to the customer

.         Ability to Create Method of Procedure (MOP) and Acceptance Plans
built from Design

.         Develop written technical documentation such as Method or
Procedure (MOP) for Field Technicians to use

.         Exercise strong analytical skills to debug, and resolve complex
software problems

.         Must be able to balance work across multiple projects
concurrently.

.         Attend project meetings as needed to address technical questions
and provide project updates.

Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

.         Work will be performed in a home office environment

.         Extensive and intricate work with a computer to resolve complex
network issues

.         Extensive use of computerized software tools and programs,
scripting and de-bugging

.         Maintenance Window working for executing software upgrades.
