Position: Google Cloud Platform Architect
Location: 100 % Remote in US
Job Description

Looking for someone with a strong experience in Google cloud platform and Kubernetes and has some prior experience with migrating applications to the cloud.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to provide best practices on strong/secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, cloud-ready application architectures, and more.
- You will respond with the configuration and deployment of cloud infrastructure, including but not limited to the following services: identity and access management, network architecture, application/data security, logging and monitoring, billing.
- You will be responsible for Organizing, naming, and setting quotas of cloud resources to ensure a structured, consistent and controlled environment. This includes defining Folder & project structure, naming conventions, Organization policies, and Quota planning
- Ensuring that only the right people/services are authorized to perform the right actions on the right resources by defining IAM roles, Service accounts, VM OS login, and Auditing access.
- Responsible for Connecting and protecting services and the flow of data between them via multiple layers of logical boundaries. This includes designing and configuring virtual private Clouds (VPC), Routing, Firewalls, Cloud DNS, VPN tunnels, Private interconnect, VPC Service Controls, and Identity Aware Proxy (IAP).
- Understanding the shared responsibility of both Google and the customer in the appropriate and compliant collection, storage, and processing of information, particularly sensitive data such as personally identifiable information (PII). This includes of define Data loss prevention, Data lineage, classification, retention, Data encryption, and Cloud KMS requirements.
- Responsible for Instilling cost consciousness and soft boundaries with the consumers of Cloud resources (architects, developers) by maximizing visibility into the costs incurred in near real-time. You need to define Billing accounts, Resource and billing quota planning, spending alerts, and Billing data export to Big Query and Data Studio or into any dashboard.
- Hands-on experience with deployment technologies (such as Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Terraform)
- Automated the deployment process using cloud build or another similar toolset.
- Serverless CI/CD experience using Cloud Build, or another similar toolset will be an advantage.
- Responsible for defining storing every system event long-term, so that any change can be audited, and any issue can be debugged. Also, storing resource metrics short-term so that their availability, utilization, and performance can be measured. You need to configure Logging for compute and application, Cloud Audit Logging, Log exporting and SIEM integration (ITSM), Optimizing logging cost with filters, and Agent-based vs. agentless monitoring.
- You will work closely with the customer application team to provide guidance on how to design their cloud applications for optimal scaling, including load balancer setup, caching, compute optimizations, continuous integration and delivery pipeline, and others.
