Job Title: Metric and Data Engineer Purpose: Part of the growing global Scientific and Cloud team. We are looking for a Metric and Data Engineer to assist the Linux System Engineers with day to day running of the metrics and monitoring tools at Client R&D sites. Responsibilities include user management, application management for logging and metric tools like Datadog, Logstash, and Nagios as well as query building and management of the Starfish storage management platform. The candidate will: need to be comfortable on the Linux command line. have the ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting. have strong LINUX administration skills and strong understating of JSON, YAML syntax. have prior knowledge of monitoring tools and some understanding of automation scripts. have some knowledge on metadata-based storage systems such as Starfish, Wasabi/Rubrck, etc, but fundamental understanding of filesystem and metadata will enable the candidate to grow into the role. will play a pivotal role helping discovery science teams to do their work. have flexibility to get things done with an eye on security. Responsibilities: Help coordinate the teams effort to stay compliment with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures while driving security and agile focused change where needed. Take on the management of our monitoring and metric tools and develop standard workflows for deploying such tools within R&D. Work with teams at multiple sites to assist and support metric and monitoring roll out. Create ansible automation scripts for deployment on our infrastructure and applications. Create the scripts in a way that they can be shared across Client and reused by other teams. Frequently interacts with scientific compute groups and data scientists to guide best use practices. Be able to work on multiple projects and deadlines at the same time while working to increase the teams exposure to those that need it.

Qualifications: Required: At least a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Bioinformatics, other related field.


You will need to have experience using the cli and knowledge of some of the following Linux flavors: RHEL, CentOS, SLES, OpenSUSE and Ubuntu. Basic Docker knowledge is also a must. You will show basic knowledge of container as a service (Kubernetes), Linux systems integrations (Active Directory, SMB, NFS, file share access and permissioning), platform tuning, code tuning, and systems management (ssh, security, crontabs, etc.). Knowledge of applications such as Starfish, Datadog, Jira, Confluence, Git, Jenkins, Slack and more. A basic understanding of R and python to help understand the computational scientists is a bonus. Ability to create and manage Jenkins workflows. Knowledge of agile theories. Demonstrates a strong customer-centric approach, an empathy for locational cultural differences, and excellent communications skills. Portfolio Manager

Clients Brand and Commercial Operations (BCo) Business Technology Solutions (BTS) organization is helping transform the business by connecting information from across Commercial Operations to support our patients. This is an exciting opportunity to be a leader in that change. This position will be responsible for establishing and delivering Portfolio processes and capabilities to improve the BCo BTS organization by aligning to strategic initiatives. The primary function of the Portfolio manager is to establish sustainable, effective strategies and processes for portfolio, Financial and performance management that enable business change and to support initiatives critical for organizational success. The Portfolio manager ensures that appropriate Project Management policies, procedures and standards are established and communicated throughout the organization. The Portfolio manager will drive change to improve the portfolio, financial and performance management processes. The Portfolio manager is responsible for improving the maturity of the BCo BTS organization.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management

Responsible for the BCo BTS Portfolio and aligning to Strategic Management Plans.
Accountable for the successful execution/delivery of the BCo BTS Portfolio programs and projects by coordinating multi discipline (both technical and business) cross functional teams.
Accountable for delivering and communicating the status of the portfolio and value/benefits created by BTS programs and projects.
Strong cross-domain collaboration across Commercial Operations Portfolios and BTS Enterprise PMO to ensure coordinated and consistent program delivery, share insights, highlight synergies, issues, risks, dependencies, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Ensure consistent execution of intake management.

Financial Management

Performance Management
Work with leadership to develop and drive QBR agenda and content.
Maintain a balance scorecard to illustrate and monitor BCo BTS performance through effective KPIs.
Benchmark BCo BTS performance against industry, Client BTS, and peer IT organizations.
Effectively identify and communicate current BTS performance capabilities and opportunities for improvement to executive level business leaders.
Work directly with leadership to translate performance goals into process improvement initiatives.
Measure, monitor and manage business partner satisfaction and develop/manage action plans to improve as applicable.

OTHER SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Bachelors Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum of 10 to 13 years of work experience including project management, portfolio management, strategic planning, creating, and reporting key performance indicators.
Expert working knowledge and hands-on experience with project and portfolio management processes and tools
Ability to work cross functionality to achieve performance improvement objectives
Experience planning and implementing process improvement initiatives
Project Management experience - Strongly preferred
Execution of large programs/projects - Strongly preferred
Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry and GxP strongly preferred
Experience with SAP financial modules
Strong understanding of the disciplines necessary to run an IT organization like a business
