ROLE DESCRIPTION - Portfolio Analyst SUMMARY OF OVERALL PURPOSE: This Portfolio Analyst position will be responsible for supporting and delivering Project Portfolio processes & reporting capabilities aimed at improved planning and project delivery for the Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Enterprise PMO (ePMO). Candidate will be accountable for the success of the assigned Project Portfolio & have responsibility for support and coaching of Project Managers. This position is expected to work with minimal oversight and have significant impact on the performance and perception of the BTS organization. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for managing project intake and portfolio management, analysis, and reporting of portfolio financials, and driving business value. * Delivering the long-range planning (LRP) and capital planning activities for the BTS organization. Assist with aligning BTS to implement a common strategy and plan to achieve business goals. * Ensure consistent execution by adhering to Portfolio and PMO methodologies and standards governed by the ePMO and Project Financial Accounting processes. * Responsible for portfolio reviews and running portfolio management meetings. * Provide strong collaboration with all BTS PMO's to ensure consistent portfolio processes and reporting, and share insights, dependencies, and continuous improvement opportunities cross-functionally. * Create and sustain business literacy in the BTS organization; maintain clarity about values, strategy, and purpose in BTS. * Evaluate cross organizational projects requests (both planned and unplanned) for clear scope, timing, cost, and impact to the Portfolio. * Accountable for identifying and communicating the status of the Portfolio and value/benefits created by the BTS projects. * Understand and promote ITIL based processes to ensure cost effective, continuous operation of the responsible systems. * Coach and mentor BTS employees and contractors on standard processes and PMO best practices. * Identify and communicate BTS project performance and opportunities for process improvement to executive level BTS leaders. * Partner with BTS Financial analysts on all aspects of project financial planning and tracking; Monitor budgets and operational effectiveness; develop strategies and courses of action for improvement. * Help improve the planning and delivery capabilities of BTS and provide input for process improvements such as designing/refining key metrics, dashboards, and corresponding action planning. * Communicate progress on projects and portfolio to stakeholders. * Responsible for helping identify Return on Investment (ROI) and Benefit Realization * Create a culture of accountability through insuring quality of data and reports. * Collaborate with key stakeholders to help define/create project benefit measures and the Business Cases. * Support the process to prioritize the portfolio and to help guide investment decisions. Minimum Requirements: * Minimum of 5 to 8 years work experience in IT portfolio management, project management, strategic planning, and/or application support * Ability to work in Pharmaceuticals office J41 (Waukegan, IL) 1 or 2 days per week (typically) * Bachelor's Degree * Experience in managing projects in the Infrastructure, Operations, and Security space. * Highly motivated with strong organizational and communication skills. * Broad awareness of ITIL processes, IT industry and IT maturity models * Expert working knowledge and hands-on experience with project and portfolio management processes and tools (e.g., Clarity) * Demonstrable knowledge of application development, implementation, and IT support best practices * Ability to work cross functionality to achieve performance improvement objectives * Track record of driving deliverables to conclusion and managing issues within a team * Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally * Ability to prepare content suitable for executive level presentations * Strong data analytical abilities to derive and communicate data metrics & trends * Ability to effectively navigate a highly matrixed organization * Solid influencing skills, business, financial and technical acumen * Experience with stakeholder management Preferred: * Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred * Fluent in PPM Products (i.e. Clarity), as well as Microsoft Office Suite of products * PMP Certification a plus Thanks & Regard's Harry John Dynamic Enterprise Solutions Inc 1801 Hicks Rd, unit A Rolling Meadows, IL -60008 (847) 701-5896 /(c) 224-635-0898 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to "rtc-linux".
