*Location: Remote Work*

*Duration: 6-9 Months*



*Job Summary:*

We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler with a background in energy and
utilities to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for
designing and implementing data model on Databricks that support the
efficient machine learning model development in a utility system. This role
requires a strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and the
unique requirements of the energy and utility sector.



*Key Responsibilities:*

•             *Data Modeling and Design:*

o             Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and
physical) for energy transmission and distribution assets.

o             Ensure data models support business requirements and
processes.

o             Design and optimize database structures to enhance
performance and scalability.

•             *Data Integration:*

o             Collaborate with data engineers to identify data sources,
types, tables and schema from various sources, including SCADA systems, IoT
devices, and other energy management systems to develop a generic model.

•             *Data Analysis and Reporting:*

o             Work with business analysts and stakeholders to define data
requirements and reporting needs.

o             Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata
repositories.

o             Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to support
decision-making processes.

•             *Collaboration and Communication:*

o             Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data
scientists, engineers, and business analysts, to understand and address
data needs.

o             Communicate data model designs and solutions to technical and
non-technical stakeholders.

•             *Compliance and Security:*

o             Ensure data models align with industry standards like CIM and
regulations, including considerations for data security and privacy
requirements.



*Qualifications:*

*Education*:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,
Data Science, or a related field.


*Experience*:

o             Proven experience as a Data Modeler or similar role in the energy
and utility sector.

o             Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio,
PowerDesigner, ERwin).

o             Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL
Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

•             *Skills:*

o             Proficient in Star and Snowflake schema, knowledge of SQL and
database design principles.

o             Understanding of energy distribution systems and asset
management.

o             Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

o             Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

•             *Certifications:*

o             Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, Oracle Certified
Professional) are a plus.



*Preferred Qualifications:*

•             Deep experience with data modeling tools, data
denormalization techniques and medallion architecture

•             Knowledge of data pipelines, machine learning and predictive
analytics.

•             Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and
spatial data.
