I am still in a car riding home from a long birthday weekend road trip.. But I have been thinking it would make sense to add a command line option for number of cores. If a simulator supports it, then it can turn on the appropriate options. This would be similar to how coverage and graphics can be ignored when a simulator doesn't support it.
