How does the scheduler know to ignore these cores?

The CPU state does not enter UP. I assume this means the core is not available for scheduling. I have not checked the code to make sure this happens.

Does the set of cores with RTEMS need to be contiguous?

I hope not. The state should be the overriding factor here.

Any other assumptions, features, or quirks I should have asked about?

Many (he said avoiding the catch all question) ;)

Hi,

Set the state of a secondary cpu to shutdown if multitasking returns.
