[Which brings up an interesting though. Just *when* will Bama & UAB finally meet on the football field?]
Hopefully never. [It HAS to happen] No, it doesn't. [The financial benefits for both teams playing a home-and-home yearly series would just be incredible.] This reminds me of an episode of "Friends" where Ross meets Isabella Rosalini (forgive my spelling). He told her that she was on his "list" of "celebrities that he was allowed to sleep with." When she brushed him off, he said, "But Isabella, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity." She replied, "Yeah, for YOU." The financial benefit to UAB would be "incredible," yes. For us? Not-so-much. We would do much better to play St. Mary's Episcopal...we still sell out Legion Field or BDS, and keep all the money (less St. Mary's guarantee.) No way would I ever advocate giving UAB a game at Tuscaloosa, let alone going to Legion Field. God forbid it. Let UAB and their two dozen fans keep the place. We did AU a favor when we started playing them at all, and again when we went to the pasture at Lee County. Let's not do it again. I could go on and on, but I won't. The city of B'ham has made their bed on this issue. Let them lie in it. I hope we NEVER play them. And further, I hope their program dries up and blows away (and given enough time and enough four-digit crowds, it will.) [Am I alone in this opinion?] Respectfully, I sure hope so. RTR!
