** The postage rate for a letter in 1693 was determined through 
   how much light could pass through the letter.  The postage 
   rate would be more expensive if less light went through, and 
   this process was called candling.
   
** In Britain, The Red Lion is the most common name for a pub. 

** The most expensive shoes in the world are ruby slippers 
   located in Harrods in London, which cost $1.6 million, and 
   have a full time security guard.  The shoes are made from 
   platinum thread and have 642 rubies in them.  It took over 7
   700 hours to produce the shoe.
  
** Elvis Presley used to be a truck driver before he started 
   singing.

** Mona Lisa has no eyebrows in Leonardo da Vinci's painting.  
   During that time, a woman was considered more beautiful if 
   she shaved her eyebrows. 
 
** The most expensive martini costs $650.  Currently it is only 
   available in Newport Beach, California.  The martini contains 
   vintage which goes back to 1802, and came from Napoleon's 
   reserve. 

** A "Barney" is a impotent, power-hungry prick.
