LOS ANGELES -- The deluxe apartment on the East Side will never be the same.
Her publicist says Isabel Sanford, best known as Louise "Weezie" Jefferson on the sitcom "The Jeffersons," has died of natural causes. She was 86. The publicist says Sanford died Friday at a Los Angeles hospital. Her health waned after she underwent surgery on a neck artery 10 months ago. Sanford made her feature film debut in the classic "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," before starring for more than 10 years on CBS's "The Jeffersons." That was a spin-off of the popular "All in the Family," in which she also appeared. In 1981, Sanford became the first black woman to receive an Emmy for best actress in a comedy series. She recently appeared on "The Simpsons" and in commercials for Old Navy and Denny's. ______________________________________________________ RollTideFan - The University of Alabama Athletics Discussion List "Welcome to RollTideFan!
