Are you sure it isn't a torn ACL? The Achilles tendon is between the heel and calf. The ACL is in the knee.
Have you EVER seen a coach bench his QB at halftime for anything other than poor performance? Neither have I. They send them back in for one series and then they come out for the rest of the game.
