BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Southeastern Conference Commissioner
Mike Slive has issued a public reprimand to Mississippi
State University Head Football Coach Sylvester Croom for
his recent public comments regarding officiating.

"Coach Croom has violated the Southeastern Conference
Code of Ethics," Slive said. "SEC Bylaw 10.5.4 clearly
states that the coaches, players and support personnel
shall refrain from public criticism of officials.

"I have reminded Coach Croom of his responsibility to
comply with the policies of the SEC and this rule. Any
further violation of conference policies of this nature
may result in a suspension of coaching duties for one or
more games."
