I don't know what ERMC stands for, but it is a private enterprise
unaffiliated with the speedway and manages the *private* lots, like the
mall. They are known to gouge people, even locals who go in for shopping.
You probably would have fared better at one of the speedway controlled lots.
As for traffic control it sucks during all special events, yet they never
seem to improve it. That's why those of us who live here avoid that side of
town until you race folks leave!

We parked at that mall across the street from the track....the parking
was handled by ERMC Staff....I don't know what the letters stand for but
I'm hunting it....We payed 40 a piece to park there(there were four car
loads of us)....went to set up my grill, they came and made me put it
up....NO OPEN FLAMES allowed....then informed us that no alcohol was
allowed either(BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!)....We asked about putting up our
canopy and was promptly informed that we would have to buy an extra
parking spot, so that bumps us up to 200 bucks total....I asked for a
refund and told them we would pack up and leave and was told that there
were no refunds, even though it wasn't specified on the parking
stub....So we're stuck....Having well over 100 dollars worth of meat
that had to be used, I inquired about propane stoves....They're allowed,
even though they couldn't answer my question as to why a stove with an
open flame that had to continue to burn was OK, but a grill with a fire
that would die down in minutes was considered a no - no....OK....I had
taken my camp stove so that was one problem solved but I had to go to
Sears and buy a skillet....another 20 out of my pocket....and some "on
the go" coffee cups from that close by Try and Save took care of the no
alcohol problem....I also went to make sure it was OK to smoke and
listen to the radio while we sat there waiting for race time....It
was....but no cursing was allowed by the muscians or us....So I make up
my mind that the next time I go there, I would find where you could
actually enjoy being at the place where you park....
Well then for the second year in a row I watched blowers dry the track
for about 2 1/2 hrs....last night the race actually got under way
without caution a little after 11....THIS IS NASCAR PEOPLE!!!! The race
was OK except for the fact that the 20 car lead the entire damb thang....
Javvy don't have enough bandwidth available for me to get into after the
race traffic control....Let me just say that the Daytona cops, FDLE,
Volusia County Sheriff officials, and Daytona Beach and Volusia
government folks need to go to Talladega and learn from those country
hicks about how to move traffic effectively and quickly out of town....
