Tide's Forbes misses score

The incoming recruiting class for the University of Alabama football team has sustained its first academic casualty.

Defensive end Antonio Forbes (6-4, 265 pounds) from Meadowcreek High School in Norcross, Ga., told Scout.com late Tuesday that he didn't score high enough on the SAT to qualify. He'll likely head to a junior college next season.

Alabama over-signed the class, with particular emphasis on the defensive line. Forbes was one of four signees at strong-side defensive end, along with Brandon Fanney (6-5, 260), Bobby Greenwood (6-4, 239) and Travis McCall (6-2, 235). On the weak side, Alabama signed Brandon Deaderick (6-4, 232) and Zach Schreiber (6-2, 220).
