I’m searching for a news story on this.  I heard it on my local morning news, but haven’t found anything I can forward yet.  But the story goes like this.  U Georgia is playing Boise State in the opener.  One of the kids from Boise has a father in Iraq.  GA fans found out about it and paid for the man to come home to see his kid play, but the NCAA ruled that makes the GA fans Boise boosters and the gift is disallowed.  So the guy can’t come home.

This is just ridiculous.  I heard an NCAA “fan” say on fox news yesterday that if member schools don’t agree with NCAA rulings they are free to pull out.  Well, maybe that’s just what needs to be done.
