I've queued the following minor change in the abstract.  Hopefully by 
reordering the sentences and explicitly adding the word optimization on what is 
now the second sentence addresses your concerns?


This document describes an experimental optimization to BFD Authentication. 
This optimization enables BFD to scale better when there is a desire to use
strong authentication. It provides a procedure where BFD significant changes
require strong authentication and permits the majority of BFD Control Packets
to use a less computationally intensive authentication mechanism.

Note that I see no further requested actions not otherwise covered by Deb's 
DISCUSS remaining in your feedback.
