Hi all, We would like to receive feedback on the new version of lfa-rsvpte-cooperation draft. This version should be easier to read and understand. The document provides guidelines on how LFA and RSVP-TE could be used together within a network. This guidelines are really important as we can observe today that implementations are today working differently and we cannot ensure a consistent behavior/design in a multivendor network. We tried to keep both mechanism as more independent as possible to limit interprocess communication within routers while we tried also to keep the flexibility to use them together on a single node/interface.
Thanks to provide your feedback and concerns regarding the content. Title : Interactions between LFA and RSVP-TE Author(s) : Stephane Litkowski Bruno Decraene Clarence FilsFils Kamran Raza Filename : draft-litkowski-rtgwg-lfa-rsvpte-cooperation-01.txt Pages : 12 Date : 2013-02-18 Abstract: This document defines the behavior of a node supporting Loopfree Alternates (LFA) when the node has established RSVP TE tunnels. It first describes the decisions to be made by the LFA mechanism with respect to the use of TE tunnels as LFA candidates. Second, it discusses the use of RSVP TE tunnels as a way to complement the LFA coverage, illustrating how these technologies can benefit from each other.
