It will be more useful to focus more writing on analyzing the needed information exchange for Controllers, and analyze if BGP can do it all or if there is anything missing. For example, you already stated that there is BGP UPDATE to carry Link State Information, BGP UPDATE to carry SR policies, BGP UPDATE to carry control traffic redirection, etc. In order for BGP RR to perform a full function controller, are those UPDATEs enough? What is missing? What messages are needed among Controller Cluster? Does it need new BGP attributes? My two cents. Linda
