DMM & RTGwg participants, The DMM WG's draft-ietf-dmm-tn-aware-mobility-07 specifies the methods to ensure the desired SLA for the 5G mobile systems' Slice and Service Types (SSTs) within the 3GPP domain. As 5G services are processed by their corresponding servers in data centers through the IP network, achieving the desired QoS for the data plane traffic within 3GPP domain (i.e., between gNBs <-> UPFs ) is insufficient to ensure the end-to-end QoS. https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-mcd-rtgwg-extension-tn-aware-mobility/ describes the mechanisms for extending the 5G Service Slices mapping enforced within the 3GPP domain to the appropriate IP underlays from UPFs to 5G service destinations. The goal is to ensure the end-to-end QoS guarantee for the 5G service slices. The -08 revision has addressed all the comments and suggestions from the IETF117 and the RTGwg mailing list discussion. We are looking for more reviews, comments, and suggestions from both DMM and RTGwg.
