Hi,

When preparing the publication of draft-ietf-rtgwg-vrrp-rfc5798bis-11 -
Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) Version 3 for IPv4 and IPv6
<https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-rtgwg-vrrp-rfc5798bis/>, we
noticed there are IPR disclosures for RFC 5798. However, the IESG has
rejected automatically linking the IPR from the base RFC to the BIS
document.

Efforts have been made to email both the IPR holders (Cisco and IBM) for
RFC 5798 informing them that they will have to submit another IPR
disclosure on the BIS document, and we haven't received any response so far.

Given the IPRs were more than 20 years old, we want to proceed with
publication of the BIS document since a good faith effort has been made. If
there is any objection, please reply to this email or contact the RTGWG
chairs ([email protected]).

We'll keep this thread open until next Monday (11/20/2023). If no
objections are received by then, we'll submit the draft to AD for review
and publication.

Thanks,
Jeff and Yingzhen
