Hi, I would like to call the rgwg's attention to a new draft I recently submitted, https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-perocchio-rtgwg-path-and-placement/. This draft discusses some of the issues around jointly optimizing service placement in the cloud and network path usage. The document proposes an approach based on a centralized calculation engine with suitable visibility to make the joint optimization decision. The document proposes also an initial list of requirements for the functionality, an architecture, changes to PCEP and BGP-LS and the introduction of an identifier for applications.
