Hi Jeff,
Fully understand—NVIDIA’s product portfolio is extremely broad and evolves at a
very fast pace. Even for seasoned experts like you, it is completely normal not
to keep track of every single detail across all product lines.

This rapid evolution is something you, as a NVIDIA expert, should be proud of:
it shows NVIDIA is proactively responding to customer requirements and staying
at the forefront of the industry.

The materials I shared earlier are just for your reference to illustrate the
technical feasibility of running BGP‑related functions on GPUs/XPUs. I would be
happy to continue our discussion with you and especially your colleagues in
China to further explore this interesting and promising direction.

Best regards,
Tiger

Hi Tiger,

Given the circumstances, I’m finding it increasingly difficult to remain
courteous.

Chers,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Regarding your questions on the possibility of running BGP on GPUs or XPUs
following my FARE-in-SUN draft presentation
(https://datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/125/materials/slides-125-rtgwg-06-xu-fare-in-sun-01,
 https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-xu-rtgwg-fare-in-sun), the
relevant information is provided below for your consideration.

Regarding the use of BlueField DPU as a BGP router, please see:

https://docs.nvidia.com/doca/archive/3-1-0/doca+hbn+service+guide/#src-3559601211_id-.DOCAHBNServiceGuidev2.10.0-Introduction

Regarding how to allow Bluefield DPU to control all network I/O to and from the
compute node through dedicated connections between the BlueField DPU and
ConnectX-9 SuperNICs, please see:

In a word, anything is possible😊

Tiger
