Hi Venugopalan, 1. NO, you cannot ask EPF for details of employees who have subscribed to EPF schemes of their employer. The information is barred because of a) Fiduciary relationship, b) Personal / Privacy concerns.
2) What you can ask for is "kindly allow me to inspect such portions of the records maintained by EPF Commissionerate concerning M/s XYZ Ltd for the period from____to ______ which can be disclosed to applicants under RTI Act 2005,and provide me assistance to locate the records of interest to me and to take copies if required against payment of prescribed fees" :-) 3) You can submit the written RTI request in person to the nearest PIO of the EPFO and deposit Rs.10 in cash forwhich you MUST obtain a receipt. 4) BTW, you must state in your RTI request letter that you are a citizen of India, and that you are/are not a BPL case. Your letter must be signed and must contain your full name and contact particulars such as Address, Telephone number etc. 5) Remember, you ought not to ask questions under RTI, you should ordinarily seek access to documents/ records which exist with the Public Authority.
