Dear Group
Please express your P.O.Vs on RTI issues as freely as you want. The
Moderators' encourage (strongly) expression of alternate views.
No individual (especially Moderators) is perfect or omniscient. It is
our united diversity (esp.dissension) that makes us strong and
effective. The role of us (much misunderstood) Moderators is solely to
keep discussions on track and stimulate discussions on issues of
common group interest. Moderators get one vote like every one else
here, our casting vote is limited to expulsion, and we have no special
privileges.
Having said all that though, my experience /view is that modern
technology although seemingly encouraging "participation" (via. TV,
blogging, mailing lists etc.) is actually disenfranchising citizens by
amplifying the howling "noise of the organised mob" which drowns out
the feedback "signal" of individual citizens. I have always maintained
that RTI is as much about conveying information ("signal") as about
getting information.
Each of us has a unique POV which deserves to be heard. Its up to us
all to ensure that our signal gets through, and that means first
setting our own house(s) in order & sublimating our egos to a larger
purpose.
