In a fatal body blow for RTI activists and Whistleblowers,
the Chief Information Commissioner Mr Wajahat Habibullah
has declined to dispose of RTI appeals involving
grave accusations of corruption.

In a recent landmark decision by a Inspector Jawahar Lal
a Whistleblower of Delhi Police who has raised serious
allegations of corruption against his seniors (and for
which a personal weapon was allowed to him) in RTI
proceedings; Mr Habibullah held as follows-

"Under the circumstances, any decision on this subject
under the RTI Act is likely to be infructuous, since this
amounts to grave accusation of corruption and is no longer
a request for information."
