OPEN LETTER TO GOVT & MEDIA

What Should we Expect From other PIOs when Information Commission themself are
not follwoing RT in letter & Spirit

Dear all,

This has the reference to information sought from State Information Commission
Punjab.

I have sought the "action Taken Report" on my various letters and e-mails sent
to Punjab State Information Commission, Chandigarh.

As usual govt office, SPIO rejected the application on the ground that
"man-hours" would be consumed to complie the information. Subsequently, the
First appeal was also rejected on the same concoted.

Now, second appeal is being heard by way of AC No.402/2008. The PIO has stated
there that They have not received the e-mails/letters...Is there some fun going
on in the state Commission???

The State Commission has asked me to supply the hard copies of e-mails and
letters.

I am surpised to see such a poor record indexing in the Commission which
otherwise should be role model for other govt. officials.

This all is happening when NONE of the PIO care to comply the time frame of 30
days given in RTI act. None of the PIO provides the details of the appeallate
authority.

The Mockery of RTI act is touching to new heights everyday in Punjab.

Thanks to the sleepy Govt of India and Particularly Govt of Punjab.

Hope some day...Justice would pervail in this country...

Regards

Bhushan Kumar
