At the time of posting the message below I had not read emails of Mohd Afzalguru who had circulated press clippings. (I am happy to learn that I got many of the IPC sections correct)
I am appalled at the actions of these 11 so-called RTI activists because they allegedly sang Jana Gana Mana in Suresh Joshi's office to get him to stand up. This MISUSE of the NATIONAL ANTHEM is disgraceful and shameful. It is a favourite RSS tactic because the RSS has never been happy with selection of Jana Gana Mana as the national anthem, and they encourage desacration of our national anthem in such fashion. I would have been very happy if instead these 11 "activists" had had the courage to sing Vande Mataram in Dr Joshi's chamber - because that is merely a national "song" misuse of which does not lead to prosecution. Incidentally although the Jana Gana Mana was first published in 1911 (and NOT as a paen to King George as the knicker brigade claim), it was written as an anthem for the Tattawbodhini Sabha in 1907 and adopted by the Adi Brahmo Samaj in 1909 as a religious hymn. I am also a proud possessor of all Rabindranath Tagore's genetic (genomic) material being descended from his elder brother.
