Members may recall that recently I had disclosed a meeting in Nov 2005 where Mr Manish Sidodia had declared that Mr Habibullah had "only half a brain", "that he forgets things easily", "that he needs to be on special medicine to prevent him from dozing off every 2 hours" etc etc.
Till now I have always dismissed these claims and given the benefit of doubt to Mr Habibullah, BUT this decsion of Mr Habibullah takes the cake. http://cic.gov.in/CIC-Orders/WB-18052009-07.pdf It is publicised everywhere (incl. CIC website) as "This is the first hearing of this Commission in which all the parties have availed of videoconferencing facility." Mr Chetan Chauhan of Hindustan Times has even written an article on it. SO what have all the 100's of previous VCs been ??? JOKES !!!! Just for the record, the first CIC VC was held on 12/05/06 in Muzibur Rehman versus SECL (see page 2) http://cic.gov.in/CIC-Orders/Decision_29052006_2.pdf All parties in Rehman's case were present for VC organised over NIC resources, Also documents were faxed between Raipur and Delhi (and vice versa) in the course of hearing. It is not very surprising that Mr Habibullah's memory is fading so fast, this is the same Muzibur Rehman matter in which the Delhi High Court slapped him for not levying penalty on Mr Chaubey. And just in case anyone propounds that the Gupta/PMO case is unique / trail blazing because the PMO afforded Mr Gupta a VC opportunity, the CIC record for Mr Muzibur Rehman's case will show that on 13-Oct-2005 (first day of RTI Act) the intrepid Mr Rehman was given a RTI VC hearing with the SECL CPIO - organised on court order of his local SDM. I do hope that Mr Habibullah corrects his orders / website if not his fast fading memory. Sarbajit
