Dear All,
Dept of Personel & Training had issued circular dtd.5.12.08 directing all Govt
Bodies ( Chief Secy of all states) to accept to accept DD/ Bankers cheque/IPO
in the name Accounts Officer of Public Authority.
Although some local bodies used to accept IPO may be in the name of Accounts
officer, Gen Admn Dept Govt Of Maharashtra was reluctant to issue similar
circular as there is no post such as Accounts Officer throughout Maharashtra.
Finally, on 14.9.09 vide KEMAa-2009/37/ Prk372/09/6/ GAD Govt Of Maharashtra
had issued a circular instructing all Secy( Infn Comn) / Depty Secy( Infn
Comn) Nivad Nasti Kaaryasan 6 to accept DD/Bankers cheque/ IPO in name of
Accounts Officer. ( Avva Sachiv N.M. Shinde ( Tel No 022-2209543) (Circular
further says the said circular will be included in Mah RTI in due corse.).
Said circluar was not posted on Mah Web Site due to technical difficulties.
However I will upload said circular shortly.
