[:)] Baron / "Lord" Meghnad Desai is on a bit of a "roll" (or
Roli-poli) these days. Not being satisfied with being served "High
Tea-1", "Lunch" and "High Tea-2" on both days of the CIC's annual circus
(Oct 12,13) he has now requested that he also be accommodated in the
"Dinner" also along with his Indian wife and thrown the CIC Secretariat
into a tizzy.

reason being that the English Crown's peerage lists still recognises
Gail Wilson as his wife and not his Indian one.
http://www.thepeerage.com/p19120.htm#i191196 A little birdy tells me
that C'IC "dinner bash" this year was going to be very very austere this
year after the letters filed last year by activists complaining of
massive amounts of sumptuous food being wasted at Habibullah's party,
but with Lord Desai being a legendary gourmet (gourmand ? sorry I never
studied French) a special waiver from the rigours of the austerity drive
has been wrangled by CIC. In any case, why has CIC chosen someone who
has publicly renounced his Indian citizenship, to violate article 18 of
the Constitution, to deliver the keynote address at the convention? Will
we be told why under 4(1)(c) of the RTI Act? Sarbajit
