Dear Sri Krishnaraj Rao,
I do not think if the intention of this convention could be considered as that
of honouring bureaucrats. It is good to hear their point of view from time to
time, since it represents the other point of view. We ie the common citizens
shall be attendees and also fully entitled to present our point of view and
decide on the issues considered. To succeed, we have to listen to all points of
view.

Dear Urvashi & organizers,
First of all, hats off for your organizing efforts and awareness-raising
campaigns. I am aware of the many weeks of dedicated work that must have gone
into making thsi conference possible.
However, may I register a voice of dissent on my own behalf, and on behalf of
some activist friends?
The structure of this convention, as per the invitation, shows a
pro-establishment bias. I would like to humbly register my protest at the
guest-list, which shows that we members of civil society have no pride in
ourselves. We continue to bow to the babu-brigade and judges at every available
opportunity.
It seems to me that this convention enthrones the bureaucrats, while We-the
People-of-India are expected to stand in the audience and humbly hear their
views. To me, this appears backward and retrograde, particularly at this
crucial juncture of history when we are all pitted against the bureaucrats and
ministers bent on amending the RTI Act and naming a CCIC through
non-transparent means, and not according to the mandate of the RTI Act.
Please, fellow activists, don't to take this message as a personal attack, as a
sign of my personal ambitions, as groupism, or as a killjoy attitude meant to
discourage those of you who are organizing this event. (If my criticism appears
motivated by malice, one-upmanship etc., I apologize in advance and bow my head
in regret.)
We urge the organizers to stand back and reflect for a moment. Even at this
eleventh hour, if possible, please find a creative and non-offensive way of
enthroning the common citizen, Daridra-Narayan, on whose behalf we all do our
activism. Please find a way to make it amply clear at the conference that
Daridra-Narayan is our one and only king, and that activists, highly-placed
officials, judges etc are there only to serve him. We must not, by our words
and behaviour, encourage delusions of grandeur, especially among those who are
highly placed in the "system".
My friends and I sincerely wish this Conference all success, and congratulate
you for organizing such events.
