Dear Fellow Members,

In response to recent suggestions / complaints from our membership the
following additional Posting Norms are in place.

1) The RTI_India group's primary purpose (reason for existence) is to
Promote, Practice and Propagate "RESPONSIBLE RTI" as defined by group
consensus. If you don't understand what Responsible RTI is then post
with caution. Responsible RTI is only the first step in your RTI
journey.

2) Members may post anything concerning Responsible RTI and issues
directly concerning RTI Act or the ground realities obstructing the
practice and propagation of Responsible RTI - such as pathbreaking (in
both senses) decisions of the Information Commissions or superior
courts.

3) Our group is the only advanced RTI group where uncensored and
unmoderated public discussion is allowed in real time to anyone who
respects the Rules we have evolved by common consensus (and the
occasional poll).

4) We stand for freedom of speech and expression here. (This is achieved
thusly)

a) Every member is free, nay encouraged, to post responsibly concerning
our primary purpose.

b) Short focussed posts clearly specifying the supporting basis
(preferably with a weblink) are strongly encouraged.

c) Long packaged (top-down) discourses are equally strongly discouraged

d) The emphasis is on QUALITY and not quantity. a.k.a "more signal less
noise".

e) Please state facts and clearly distinguish your facts from opinions.
Be as sure of your facts as you reasonably can

f) Remember to trim your posts to conserve our planet's resources.

5) Ad-hominem (ie. personal attacks) against other members is strongly
discouraged. Play the ball and not the man. "Trolling" results in
expulsion.

6) Remember that no matter how much we may disagree with our fellow
members, we must fight for his right to have his proper say. Help us to
keep religion and politics out of this group.

7) Do not get discouraged when you face a barrage of critical ragging /
banging from other members when you post - STAY THE COURSE !!! This is a
necessary initiation into our fraternity and will toughen you for the
battles ahead and bond you to your brother. As Saddam Husein said "Me
against my brother, my brother and I against my cousins, I and my
cousins against the world"

8) Friction and conflict is what causes/lubricates mankind's eternal
progress. We are not mindless robots conditioned to blindly accept what
some "RTI Gods" tell us - SCREW THEM. We all have equal brains - lets
start using it and make a difference - for India if not for ourselves
!!!
