1) The "appointment" is done by the President. [12(3)] 2) The recommendation for appointment is done by the 3 member committee. If the 3 member committee recommends Ansari's name OR Tiwari's name then they shall promptly resign before their appointment by the Prez. Now the question is, will the Govt recommend names of people who have only 1 year left to serve (and re-endure this tamaasha next year) or appoint someone who has 5 straight years to serve? PS: A well known woman (I wouldnt go so far as to call her a lady) was in the running as a candidate but a "sexist" member of the committee opposed her name.
