Just a moment ago I received a letter from another group that I'm
subscribed to (see http://root.cern.ch) from someone who asks a question
related to the same detector. Tracing the guy I was finally able to get
my hands on their www page describing the so called AMANDA :

Seems, it's a season for "south pole detectors" :-)
