hi. we are actually thinking about using a dual cpu system to reduce the cpu load and to have more time for planed comminucation. but I do have no idea about pci access with 2 cpus. We were thinking of using one cpu for getting data from a adc card, doing some calculations and writing something back to a dac (this works fine). The other cpu can be used for network communication or is free for linux control things. -- we want to control (and observe) our rtlinux controller from outside (i.e. via network or local console). Has anybody experience with that? - With network communication there would be eccessive pci usage (we get data every 50us and have to do 8 reads to get all the data from out a/d). Maybe this 2 cpus would block themselves with pci bus accesses. We were thinking about that because we get every 50us data and a/d + control + d/a takes 35us... so there is not much spare time for additional gimmicks... thanks in advance alexander fiedel _______________________________________________________________________ Immer einen Schritt voraus.
