Can somebody tell me why I always get the following error when trying to
compile a new kernel.
I have tried 2.2.16, 17, with always the same results:

make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/dpp/linux/arch/i386/lib'
make: *** [_dir_arch/i386/lib] Error 2
