Raymond,

Check out computerboards.com. They have a good selection of cards at very
reasonable prices. They have both ISA and PCI cards. I would check with
the comedi hardware list to make sure there is a driver before buying.
Comedi has a long list of supported cards. I have used their products over
the years and I have been quite happy with the results.

Subject: [rtl] please recommend good, simple, cost effective data acq
card for R TL

Hi, all;

I'm finally maybe gonna get the funding I've been pursuing for several
years, and get to work on a project that's been nagging me for about as
long.

I'm looking for a good data acquisition card, 8 differential inputs, 8 to 16
digital I/O channels, counter/timer chip for playground material.

I need it to work in both a Wintel (aarghh!) and RTLinux environment (and,
of course, not at the same time :>)

Gonna try to configure an energy management system.

The reason for "Wintel" is in case I fall flat, and end up with an RTL
flavored development curve that becomes asymptotic, I gotta have a start at
results fairly soon. I can do RTL along the asymptote after the system is
up, if need be.

Doesn't have to be fast, 12 or 16 bit A/D is cool. 0-10 VDC input range
needed.

Sample rate is 2 channels per second (no speed demon here....)

Something for which the Linux/RTLinux drivers are readily available, and is
ISA bus compatible.

I got a bunch of 486's and 166 mhz pentium CPU's to pick from for the host,
and little of it has any PCI sockets to speak of..

If anyone has a recommendation, testimonial, or cautionary tale to convey
please advise at your convenience.

Thanks and regards,
