You might want to reinvestigate ReiserFS as your statement above is not really true. It DOES NOT journal data. You can still loose data. The only FS that does journal data is ext3 and that comes with a significant performance loss. The faster your machine the less you will notice it. I've been using Reiser for a long time and the ONLY advantage over ext2 is faster recovery (no long fsck's) after an unexpected power off.
