I'm the author of this driver 

2.4.7 version needs slightly modified  rtl distribution to work with
2.4.4 patch doesn't have included vmaloc patch (downloadable separately)

I do have patches even for the current kernel - but without help of
Michael
or Victor I so far unable to make softirq mode working - so RTL is
scheduling
with given frequency, but userspace task runs just with 400Hz which is
quite low for this device.

I'll try to cleanup infomation on this page later.
