Hi,
I am having problems with loading a kernel module while KDE is
running. Specifically, the system crashes immediately after loading the
module, or soon afterwards.
If I load the module before starting X, it gets inserted without
problems. But when I start X with the module loaded, KDE hangs when it
tries to load the window manager.
Suspecting a possible conflict with KWM, I switched to Gnome. I
currently use the window manager Sawfish and can start X while the module
is loaded, or load the module from within a gnome session, both without
problems.
I haven't been able to find what the conflict between KWM and the
module may be, and how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated.
