-- Hi James,
--
-- Could you please tell us a bit more about your project? The problem
-- of putting RT Linux into FLASH has been raised several times on
-- this list but as far as I can recall you are the first one to present a
-- real case study. Could you tell more about this : what kind of FLASH
Circuit Cellar Ink, December issue, ( http://www.circuitcellar.com ) had a
discussion on the booting of Linux from a sandisk card ( http://www.sandisk.com
).I have only scanned the article, (just got the mag yesterday) so be
warned. Unfortunately this was the second part of a two part article.
I did not get last months magazine because we moved and the subscription got
screwed up. I'm going to try buy it at the store today to confirm, but they
discussed RT-linux at one point briefly. It seemed though, that the parts I read
last night were not RT-linux specific.
BTW CCI is actually a pretty good magazine if you hack around with hardware,
check it out!.
-- device you use, did you have problems with making Linux boot from
-- it etc.? Also did you try to reduce in some way Java footprint ? How
-- big your instalation (including Java) is?
--
-- BTW, does somebody know about Embedded Java more than can be
-- found on JavaSoft site? Could it have something to do with RT Linux?
--
-- Regards
-- Nikolay Ognyanov
--
cheers
george.
