Hi guys!

I just read Saida Takao's "bug report", and I must
admit that I was quite impressed with it! That's
pretty cool, to be able to read a source code, and find
some bugs on the fly...!

My knowledge about RTOS is pretty minimal, and somehow
restricted to Labrosse's excellent book on "MicroC/OS-II".
Up to now, I used to design all my embedded applications
(mostly motor control) as super-loops (forground/background)
on microprocessors/DSPs.

Recently, however, I installed RTLinux and ran the
test-applications. Being very impressed with the "new"
performance of my Linux-box, I decided that I wanted to know
more about RTLinux, dig into the code and be able to contribute,
one day, my own hacks and "bug report" :).

The only problem is: I don't know where to start... I am
not a kernel-hacker, and barely capable of writing a
small device driver. So tell me, is there hope? Can I read
a description of the most important source-files and
techniques? Which are the relevant source files? Is all in
the rtl distribution, or do I also need to understand the
kernel-patch?

Thanks for your inputs,

Beat Arnet
