I'm developing a realtime data acquisition system for my senior project at
BU. The acquisition program requires support for three boards:
Keithley Metrabyte: DAS1802ST 16 bit A/D Board
ComputerBoards: CIO-CTR10
ComputerBoards: DIO24
Does anyone know if drivers for these boards already exist somewhere, or
perhaps something similar to make my job easier?
I'm a newbie at kernel hacking, but I'm in the process of reading
Alessandro Rubini's "Linux Device Driver" book to get me up to speed. It's
a very enjoyable read so far.
One other reality check. I'm trying to decide whether to go with an SVGA
console interface or use an X frontend. At what frequency of A/D interrupt
servicing does X become so neglected of processing time that it's
unusable? Is there a standard rule of thumb based on clock speed for a
Pentium II system?
Any help would be appreciated.
