----------------------- citation ---------- The next time all systems will be based on RT-Linux. We will not use Windows in any time critical systems again, using Windows for such tasks is plain wrong. Right now I am doing some investigations on what will happen when the jiffie-counter goes full, as it will after 497 days since last reboot. If nobody cuts the power, uptimes like that will be reached in a project I am working on, and we must figure out how we should deal with this thing. Besides hardware problems, this is the only problem I am expecting regarding unstability in RT-Linux. --------clue------------ To test jiffs wrap around you can set jiffs to -(HZ*60*10) to have wrapping happen 10minutes after booting. Look for jiffs=0 or so in the linux source.
