Hello :
I am just curious why the source for the RT Linux posted as
ftp://rtlinux.cs.nmt.edu/pub/rtlinux/v1/rtlinux1.1.full.tgz (7253 Kb)
does not contain any RT patch , but the source posted as
ftp://rtlinux.cs.nmt.edu/pub/rtlinux/v1/rtlinux.v1.tgz (7346 Kb)
has a real-time patch applied to it.

The README file in the same directory does not clarify :
README

v1.1 contains the entire source tree
rtlinux1.1.tgz contains rtlinux source and a linux kernel patch
rtlinux1.1.tgz contains rtlinux source and a patched linux kernel

Sincerely,
