As suggested by Stuart Warren, this was a problem with the power
management. After recompiling the kernel without the option
"Make CPU Idle Calls when Idle" ( CONFIG_APM_CPU_IDLE ), the problem
described above disappears (it'll probably also solve the problem with
the high interrupt latency time I described in another message).
Well, I should have thought about it before. Power-saving and real-time
just do not go together.
