Hi,
I'm new with RT-Linux, infact I haven't programmed anything yet with Linux or RT-Linux
at all. so forgive me if the question is a bit straight forward.
I'm trying to develop a program for a Cruise Control system. I want to communicate
with the CC hardware trough an I/O card or Parallel port.
I'm struggling with the fact that there are two kernels. One is Linux (non RT) and
the other RTLinux (RT). I figured that the control of the I/O card or parallel port
must be a loadable module (driver) in the RTLinux kernel and that the Display must run
under X. But, how am I to program this. Can I program this all in one pees, or do I
have to separate the Display part and the driver part?
My biggest question is actually, how do I know whether a program is running under
RTLinux or Linux.
Can anybody give me a clear picture of how this two kernel stuff actually works.
Many Thanks,
E Verhulst , NL
