This is pretty standard option. Most distributions use such configured
kernel. This is rather bug in RTAI modules. Probably <linux/modversions.h>
should be included and the modules should be compiled with -DMODVERSIONS
option. This is quite common problem, nevertheless several "add on" kernel
packages have solved it.
