Hi,
> There was some interest in this some time ago.
Indeed, some month ago I posed the question whether there
is some interest in porting rtl to alphaAXP. And obviously
there is interest.
In the past month I developped a rtl application ( many
thanks to Thomasz Motylevski ) with a graphical user interface
based on gtk+ (this will be put on a ftp-site soon). For
reasons of performance, and rather for reasons of personal
interest and convinction, I am highly interested in the port
of rtl to alphaAXP. Therefore the thinking nerds started
http://www.thinkingnerds.com/projects/alphartl/alphartl.html,
a site for this development. Maybe there are some other
I do not know of, but this could be a starting point.
Currently, I would like to rise money for a kick-off meeting
to be held in Vienna and I am looking for a company hosting
and supporting such a meeting. The goal should be to define
a group of people who want to participate in the development,
a common base (kernel, rtl version), the architecture of rtl
for alphaAXP, etc. Then, an Austrian Company has promised to
provide a computer and it would be great if some developers
receive the same hardware (which is for most of them not
really affordable).
Thus, any contributions are welcome!
